Re: The most stupid thing you saw last week?

Driving on a two-lanes-each-side interstate when I noticed a car that I was pretty sure was an unmarked police car coming up behind.

I made sure I was at the speed limit. The cop slowed so that...

Re: Nautilus,Galvan or lamson trout reel?

Unless you're talking about trout over 4 pounds or so, just about any reel will do.

Even the low end of the Lamson line, the Konic II, is plenty adequate.

Re: Help for visual acuity/knots:

On Youtube, there are a number of videos on tying knots with your hemostat.

For instance, this:

Re: Do stockies holdover?

I doubt many do.
I've fished places here in the Northeast on the last day of the season. In many cases, there were stocked trout still alive in those streams.
When the season re-opened a couple of...

Re: Lost a fly box

Perhaps I'm a little over the top on things like this.

Everything in/on my vest has a tether - nippers, forceps, fly boxes, leader spools, net, glasses, camera... You get the idea.

Re: Black flies

I have two words - head nets.

Nothing else really works when the flies are bad. I hate wearing them, but I hate black flies even more.

Re: The Phantom Punch and An Early TKO...

It's worse than inexcusable. It's criminal.

I'd alert every law enforcement, drift boat supplier, guide, fishing shop, and anything else I could think of to find these guys.

Best of luck with...

Re: Waders springing a slow leak already?

Call or e-mail Redington.

You've nothing to lose by doing that.

Chances are they'll do 'something' to help.

Re: fly line Knots - a problem

Earlier I said I use the Davy and Double Davy knots.

Today, I was casting on a bass pond that borders my property. I was trying some Rio Fluorocarbon 5X tippet.

It didn't work at all with a...

Re: Small mountain stream/spring creek rod question

Covering all the possibilities with one rod is going to be tough.

But, you don't need to break the bank on rods, either.

I'd get a 6' to 6' rod for the really small stuff, either a 1 wt or a 2...

Re: Gas prices almost back to before.

Why are Utah and Nevada so high?

Here in NH and Maine, unleaded is around $2.55/gal. And, we're at the very end of the delivery pipelines.
