That is a tough section of the HF you are on. I know those fish well and I know how difficult they are to hook and land, any day of the year.

Yes, 70-80.

Many of these casters can hit the 100' foot mark as far as dumping line and casting to a general area. The 10' lane is what kills guys.

65' is typically where the far target...

For nymphing I commonly tie a long leader (6-10') directly on to my butt section loop. I use a double loop clinch knot to secure the leader to the loop.

I then tie the tippet to that long flat...
