Re: NFO Outlaw Escape pontoon/kick boat
To me, the Escape is a float tube. The oars are an added attraction. It's just that it's the Godzilla of float tubes. I didn't really think that way when I had it. If you think of it as a...

Re: New to fly fishing and this forum
Might want to think about getting a creel next. I saw those fish and the rope stringer laying on the ground and thought I was on the Utah BFT forum...

Re: Tohatsu 5 horse any good?
Ard, these boats like the Challenger are a little different than yours. His Challenger is of course frameless, but there is a frame for it that you can get. The motor mounts on a hd transom and not...

Re: Tohatsu 5 horse any good?
Pretty much the same motors. Tohatsu makes Nissan and 30 hp and under Mercs. I also think Mercury has an investment in both companies. The main differences are cosmetic and maybe the shift lever...

Re: Best pontoon boat under $500
The cheaper ones have steel frames. The more expensive ones have aluminum. Buck's uses stainless steel.
I started to think last night that a purchase like this depends on how much you use it. If...

Re: Best pontoon boat under $500
Vinyl bladders- one strike, steel frame- two strikes. 77 lb. 3 strikes.
Vinyl bladders are more suceptible to temp and altitude changes, they leak easier than a urethane bladder, and heavier.
Steel...

Re: Camolux – Freshwater Fly Lines by RIO Products
I'm willing to try it. I've used Clear Camo since it came out. My biggest problem with it is the memory. One thing I wish the reviewer would have done is compare the two. Tried them side buy side for...

Re: Finally Got'r Done! Ordered NFO Challenger
When I get home tonight, I'll be able to do a little more on the computer. Right now I'm on my phone. Big thumbs, little keys. I'll post pics for you
Ok, I'm home now on the IPad.
Jackster, it...

Re: Feather Craft Furled Leaders
I'm going with the braided leader as the culprit also. I fished with them for a while back in the early 2000's. Bad spray when lifted off the water.
There's still a lot of people that think a furled...

Re: Tenkara Forum?
If you get it out of your minds, that Tenkara style fishing if going to be able to do what you can do with your fly rod w/guides and reel, you need to think again. It's for a certain type of fishing....

Re: Tenkara Forum?
First of all, why all the rejection of Tenkara, and the non- belief that as fly fishers the U.S. gets it's ass kicked in international competition?
I don't have a Tenkara rod, but I wouldn't be...

Re: Orvis Far and Fine 7' 9" 5wt
I have an '87 F&F. That rod along with my Scott F2 glass 3 wt. and 6wt. BIIx are my favorites right now. That's out of about 40 rods.
I take it that it's staggered ferrule?
