Re: Graduating from Dry Flys to Nymph

Do a Google search and you will find pages of articles on nymph fishing. I just typed in "fly fishing with nymphs". Might even find something specific to your area and style of fly fishing.

Here...

I have 10 fly boxes loaded and ready to go for various situations but rarely carry more than 2 with me at one time. There is one for nymphs, one for terrestrials, one for streamers, etc. I also...

Re: Help me pick a rod

I have a couple TFO Pros and an older Scott. I use the Scott the most. It may cost a little more but you get what you pay for. Being a slow caster it works best for me.

I am also impressed...

Re: One more time: How do you hide a tippet?

Fluorocarbon work well, almost completely invisible in the water. Tippet size depends on situation and fly size. I have never had a problem with it. Use double surgeons to attach tippet to leader,...

Re: Any thoughts or recommendations for slow action rods?

I have glass and boo rod, incredible slow. Also have a Scott which is medium action. I prefer the slower to slow/medium action but that's just my style. Go with what works best for you.

Re: 0, 1, 2?

I have a 2 wt. One of my fishing buddies calls it my buggy whip. Sure is fun to catch small fish on. Also great for small streams and gently placing flies in the right spot.

Re: Interesting Wisconsin Trout Unlimited Study

I see you live in the Houston area now. Prior to moving to AZ we lived in Atascocita (Humble) for 6 years. Caught a lot of bass out of Lake Houston as well as cats, crappie and sunfish.

Re: Oil company profits.....

Re: Need a 3 wt trout rod

Re: TFO Professional 9ft 5wt 4pc

I just got an 8" 2wt Professional. For such a light weight rod I'm amazed at how well I can toss the bigger wooly buggers and semi-seals. Obviously, I can't get the distance that I can get with my...
