i know it's a long shot, but trying to id the reel on page 172. it's the one the lady is holding not the cheap plastic one the boy is using. i also know it's not a classic reel but i can't match it...

i just tried the rio smallmouth in a 6wt. and hated it. it's way to stiff for me, i'm used to mainly cortland line and it doesn't stay coiled like the rio sm.

abel makes the reel your talking about wanting. you can put a standard spool and a mid arbor spool on the same frame.

you can get by with what you've got for bass. the bass in the lake down the street from me are pretty small so i chase them with 3 and 4 wt. rods. i can throw a pretty decent sized popper and wooly...

i can't argue with lefty's principles after seeing him cast in peson. he makes shooting the entire fly line out look as easy as any short cast. he tried to give me a few pointers that i'm sure didn't...
