Re: Montanna stream access

The definition of "navigable" has nothing to do with where the creek originates. Can you legally access these? Yes. Will you be escorted off the property? Yes. Would you win a court case if you...

Re: Dubois bears?

I've seen three grizzly bears in my life. All three were from US 26/287 near Togwotee Pass. Two big bears about 1/2 mile off the road, and a yearling that crossed in front of us. I've never...

Re: Dubois bears?

I don't see why bears are so scary. Carry bear spray (which, by the way, you're more likely to be harmed by accidental spray discharge than you are to need your bear spray), don't bother with...

Re: I'm not a mean person. But I love it when this happens.

Kinda does sound like you're a mean person, getting pleasure out of someone else's disappointment. I'm a mean person too, but at least I'm honest about it.

Re: Carp - Gear and tactics

If a carp is breaking a 5 weight, the problem's not the carp.

I've caught 12 lb grass carp on a 3 weight. The rod can handle the fish if they're played/handled properly.

Re: China made Vests, slings & Packs users? Fishpond Copies?

Honestly, I'd expect there not to be a difference in the quality of the two vests. They're almost certainly made in the same factory, by the same people, of similar materials. This isn't the...

Re: Help identifying trout.

It's not hard to determine which species the fish is. Getting into subspecies can be more difficult.

Spotting pattern heavily weighted toward the tail, with majority of spots that fall in front...

Re: Help identifying trout.

I see no indication of hybridization that would suggest anything other than cutthroat.

Having a horizontal red stripe and parr marks does not indicate hybridization.
