Re: I need to order those Rothco pads!

Looks like fun stuff. However, our largest organ is skin and skin heals, but doesn't repair to "like new" condition. Soccer shin pads may be what you need.

Re: Senator Requires?

Sounds like the petition is/was created by the congressman or someone closely associated with the congressman. I'd say you need to check Utah and/or Federal law about legal requirements of a...

Re: Project Healing Waters is Wonderful.

Great cause and group. Like others, I try to support them, Casting for Recovery and Reel Recovery. Slightly different missions, but all enhancing the healing - physically, mentally and spiritually

Re: 5 Keys to Fishing During Runoff

The color choice may depend on the specifics of the "murk". I've seen "murk" that was light brown, dark brown, red/orange, gray/black, green/blue. Too much contrast might allow a detailed inspection...

Re: Indicator rod

My choices - Courtland Nympy - 10'6" 4wt - using Cabelas Prestige Plus 6 wt (supposed to be 6 1/2 wt), Cabelas CZN 11' 4wt - using Cabelas Prestige Plus 5 wt, TFO Deer Creek Switch 4 wt, using Wulff...

Re: Micro Shot

I carry some lead core trolling line. Very easy to take the lead wire and out and use it as ultra-light twist on. I suppose lead wire for fly tying would work.

Wow! That sure helps the guy out. Wish I had a decal to send him. Regardless of what I think about Hank Patterson.

Re: Nymphing - 2 must see videos

Good information. Thanks for posting. I'm a big supporter of "most nymph bites go undetected", even by the best. I've watched fish grab, close mouth, open mouth and spit the fly without any...

Re: Pistol Pete's, or never order tying supplies while drunk.

Quiet, shhhhhh - a great smallmouth lure. Oh yes, it works on trout, largemouth, walleye, sauger, bluegill, skipjack,.... and a few more. Black, white, olive, tan, gray.

Re: Bobicate no more...

Nice looking widget. A popular form around here is to use a level leader for heavy nymph work (with light tippet); uni-knot a short length of bright colored backing or small diameter fly line to the...

Re: casting an intermediate line

Most of my casting problems are solved with two easy actions:
1) Slow down
2) Watch the backcast

I don't have very good rhythm - I tend to "speed things up", making a conscience effort to slow...

Re: A different setup for an indicator/bobber fishing

I haven't tried it, but have thought about it. The hookset would be straight to the hook and not telegraphed through the bobber. Also might be able to detect strikes that don't show on the bobber.

Re: leader / tippet question

I believe the numbers you shared are mm not inches. Converting to inches, there is approximately 0.0002" difference. The standard size for 2x is 0.009" or 0.2286mm. I use fluro for most of my...

Re: trout rivers/streams near frankfort kentucky

Get on the Kentucky DNR web site and look around for stocking locations and dates. They have several places that are stocked in the Fall after trout is closed and then it is catch and release only...
