Re: Anyone trending upward in rod weight?

I'm still fairly new to fly fishing and I have never used an 8 weight, but I was surprised that my 6 wt can throw weighted clousers and such as easily as it does. I was thinking big flies would be a...

Re: Bless me Father, for I have sinned

I'm not trying to start an argument but I am not above using spinning gear. When you are a warm water angler sometimes you do what you gotta do. Lefty Kreh will back that up. I think what a lot of...

Re: Fly-rod-in-the-mouth pictures?

Re: Progress

Thanks! Unfortunately, SW Ohio is to be rained out this week, so it may be a little bit until the rivers are fishable again.

Re: What are you cleaning, polishing, 'greasing' your line with?

I just cleaned my line (Rio Performance WF6F) and dressed it with the SA stuff last night. Only went out with the line a couple times since I got it over the winter, it was amazing how much gunk...

Re: warmwater pics

Great bass brother! Wow I bet that was fun.
Also, great sucker vanish! I've never caught a white sucker (not for lack of trying, they can be picky) but I have caught redhorse suckers on spinning...

Re: What is wrong with my roll cast?

From watching videos, I think maybe I was applying too much force too early in the cast, rather than directing it more forwards. Do you guys ever haul while roll casting? Is that a thing?

Re: What is wrong with my roll cast?

Thanks for the replies everyone. It is helping but I am stuck on one point.
I think the confusing thing for me is the fact that I've always heard that its the tension of the water that loads the...

What is wrong with my roll cast?

Hey all,
I got out on a pond with my new TFO Pro Special II yesterday. I was noticing that at short range, roll casting was fine, but at any distance more than 20 ft of line or so not so much. It...

Re: It's on :)

Nice specs! There's a small pond that I know of, that is rumored to have a population of crappie. It gets flooded pretty good occasionally by a nearby river so its possible that anything could be...
