I think a paddleboard sounds just as useful as a kayak, easier to stand on as well. Maybe a little slower. In the flats though, I would definitely go with a paddleboard.

I'm surprised the Huron River Drive didn't flood like it usually does. We haven't had that much rain, and the melt didn't blow it up as much as I expected.

For hardy fish like smallmouth, largemouth, gills and other panfish that don't struggle after even two minutes out of the water (if I hook them deep), I might leave the barb. They wouldn't keep...
