Buggers, egg sucking leeches, mickey fins, various streamer patterns, as well as nymphs in the full range of trout sizes. Sometimes you will want them down to a #16 depending on flow level....

Kings are currently coming into a few Superior tribs, as are some of the lake run browns. Steel will follow shortly as well as coho. Are you spey fishing or single hand casting? Think eggs...

I am not sure if the line will damage guides. I have a sharkslin on a 5wt also. I do know hat it will wear a groove into your fingers if you strip streamers for any length of time!

I honestly believe the umpqua swimming frog is one of the greatest largemouth flies ever tied. But I also know for a fact that a long rabbit strip leech with a cone head, say 6-10" in purple or black...

I do personally believe that the Sharkskin seems to shoot better. I don't think you will be disappointed.
