The only thing concerning me on your trip is the altitude sickness you will run into being a flatlander going to 14k. You can get symptoms starting at 8k. You really need a few days to aclimatize...

Im not really a fan of the accel. I found it to whippy for my taste. As always, I recommend you go test cast as many rods as you can and settle for the one that feels right for you.

In all honesty I dont think anyone's gonna really care. Do what I do when my arm gets tired, cast your single hand like a two handed rod. It can be done and quite nicely too

The problem I have here is the fish I catch ar so large they dont fit in the cameras lense/view finder so taking a picture is a mute point for me.

Go for the Stanislaus area. There are so many places to fish I dont think youll have a problem. Heck, you could just do yosemite and spend a week just fishing the saddleback lake area for a sierra...

Ditto, TFO told me they will send rods to the fly shop of your choice to try and it can be sent back. Offer to pay the freight or you could buy something from the shop you need to cover it.
