I was told by Orvis the Tippet Spool Holder is only included in the fully loaded pack. I ran into the same question when I first got this pack. I do like it.

When you loop the line over the Thinga, after threading it thru the hole, put an extra turn in the line around the base of the Thinga. The extra turn stops mine from sliding.

Not alot of info but I think Sage produced a rod model that was called the MA in 1988-1989.
