I'm not sure there is any other advantage other than the sink rate. But I do fish BH almost exclusively. I am just to impatient for the non BH bugger to sink.

Green Sunfish on top. It was a hoot. It was on a mountian stream here in AZ, that I thought had no fish. I was using a dragonfly. I was 18 years young. Did not get me hooked on fly fishing...

wet the leather straightner on the inside (I use spit, but water from where you fish is fine) Run the wet straightner over the leader once and you should be good to go. That is how I do it and...
