Re: First fish ever in North America!

Glad to hear that you finally got into fish. It's a joy that can't be had in any other style except maybe Tenkara. Hope the luck holds out for you and your friend. Best of luck!

Re: Passing of a friend.

Thanks everyone for the heart felt responses. I don't know what to do now that he is gone. In this life you find very few true blue friends that you can share this sport with, they know you and you...

Re: Thomas & Thomas Rods

I talked to Trevor and he told me that the ES series are very similar to their Horizon series, perhaps a little faster. They sold for around $175.00 to $ 225.00. Anyway it was nice to here from him...

First Trip with Iwana 12'

After a couple of months of work, wind and lack of time I hit the local lake for some fishing. After using a spinning rod to locate bluegills and crappie got the Tenkara rod rigged and started...

Passing of a friend.

On May 15th I lost a long time friend and fishing partner of 30 years to a heart attack. Jimmie L. Clymore had brought me into fly fishing and was very helpful in getting me started and kept me...

Re: The Ultimate "FITW" Trout Flies Assortment

Just received my 50 piece+13 package today. Very nicely done and a great little box, and the mustad box. Will cherish the kids flies and keep them for my hat!

Nice post. I am trying to get myself out to the river this week to try a little dry fly stuff as well as get the Tenkara rod out the fist time.

Re: Dear God, this guy was lucky!

I have been caught in the middle of a lake in my float tube with my fly rod more than once when a storm came up. I stick the tip in the water and haul butt for the shore (well as fast as you can in...

Ok, I have tried 6 times to reach "anyone" at this company and have left messages and no one returns calls I guess. SO I will ask here to see if anyone has any info on a T&T "ES" series rod. I have...

Re: Going back to the Old, new-Fashioned Vest

I just replaced my vest after 25 years. It's a columbia that has worked great, only it's solid material. It's hell in summer, so this year I got a Orvis mesh vest. Wow, lighter and cooler. At my age...

Re: Lunchbreak gill bustin!!

Nice fish. Love the 'gills. Sad some turn their noses up on these great little fish. Got a 11.5" one on a popper once. Thought it was a bass for a min.

Re: A Thread for the Dry Fly Purist;

Dry fly or go home. Sorry, I had to get it out of my system. My first love is to toss a dry and watch it float along with hopes and dreams in my mind.

Re: 2013 5-Weight Shootout

It's funny how sensitive we get about "our" rods when these tests come back. I'm kinda a 'Loomis junkie and so I liked it that they came out on top. However I have added a Zenith and a Streamflex...

For sub-surface I like small buggers in black, purple and olive. On top small poppers and foam beatles. Check breambugs.com.

I just got a "newer" vise the other day and started tying again, and I really enjoy it. Then I started thinking (start of problem) and looked at all my fly boxes stacked up. I'm a dry fly guy at...

Re: Time to change my fishing (clock) schedule?

Fred, love the comment. I love hitting the river early but! The heart meds, thin blood give me cold hands and I stand there in the water thinking how can I get my hands/fingers warm. Now I have a...
