Re: Bushline Vest at Costco

Ordered it. Will post comments when I get it. If I don't like it I can just return it to the store 5 minutes away. So no risk! In case anyone is wondering, shipping was $5.

Re: Bushline Vest at Costco

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. I'll wait to see if there are any more responses today. If not, I'll buy. Wondering if the postal strike affects Costco shipments. Home Depot shipments aren't...

Hi all,
I am looking for a vest that I can wear over my personal flotation device. It will not be my main vest. There is one at Costco, the Bushline model 6334. I didn't see it in the store, but...

Why barbless?

There are some interesting points here about barbless hooks. Some I agree with, others that I strongly disagree with. One post stated that barbless hooks cause just as much damage as barbs. This is...

Re: Best of the "60" dollar lines

Didn't see this question til now, so perhaps an answer is unnecessary, but here it is anyway. Shipping was dirt cheap. $1.10 or something like that!!

Hey Greatcanadian, how much was shipping for...

Re: Noob needs help.

I have both a Lamson Konic and the Allen Trout. The Konic is on my 8 weight and the Allen on my 6 weight. There is no doubt that the drag on the Lamson is tough to beat. But the Allen is no slouch...

New Allen Reel Arrived

I received a Trout Series reel and flyline in the mail. I have to say, I am getting more and more impressed with Justin's products. I won't post any kind of review as I haven't used it yet. But I...

Re: Best of the "60" dollar lines

Another thumbs up for Allen lines. I currently have an 8 weight WFF. As I stated in another post, there is no way I will ever pony up 40, 50, or 60 bucks for fly line again. I also have Cortland 444...

Re: Custom Built Rods - Edumacate Me Please

Hi Jamie,
Just noticed you are from Newfoundland. So am I. So you will be fishing for Atlantic Salmon on the Newfoundland rivers I am assuming. What rivers will you be fishing, and where do you...

Re: Custom Built Rods - Edumacate Me Please

It isn't clear from your post if you are only new to fly-fishing for salmon, or new to fly fishing entirely. If you are new to fly-fishing entirely, I wouldn't have a custom rod built. Have a...

Well, I lied about the Trout series. I ordered the new XL for my 6 weight. I need another 8 weight and will be getting the Trout series for that one.

Re: 6 wt rod - how Lite or heavy should reel be

I lied. I didn't get the Trout. I ordered the new XL for my 6 weight.

Just want to make a comment on the discussion of reel weights and rod weights. One thing I have noticed is that if the reel is...

Re: 6 wt rod - how Lite or heavy should reel be

I agree with oregonsteel totally!!! First of all, I have the $130 lamson he mentions, the Lamson Konic. I did buy it for it's high quality drag, and I do not regret it as I knew exactly what I was...

Re: Allen and Co Fly Line

Hi,
I recently purchased Allen fly line and can say I am very impressed. However, it was spooled on a new reel, and a new rod, so I cannot reliably compare it with my other lines YET in it's casting...
