Re: Hello from New England

Watching the National Weather Forecasts, I'm 'basking' under (well, later this morning) bright blue skies close to 60 degrees this afternoon. Brookings, OR tapped 70 yesterday. Folks in the NE are...

Re: Trout Fishing In Germany 2005 "Long Story"

"Not" is an understatement. I can't speak for every place in the United States,** just my corner of the World. Legally access the water, stay below the 'High Water Mark' and you're all in. Have had...

Re: Sage One: very fussy going back in the tube

I feel your 'Group Pain,' but you want 'pain' you need to get a spey rod back in its tube. :(

I've given up on that, just leave them rigged, then on to the rod rack on the Jeep. Driven 800 miles...

Looking at the heading again and thinking back.

Twice comes to mind; two young boys. 'You'd like to learn how to spey cast?' Single young Mother: 'Is it OK?'

'They will never learn unless...

Re: Guy who drives the garbage truck. Friday pick up.

Very old Chief Petty Officer to a 'green' LuoopTunNut-tendIt: "Sir, I didn't ask you for your opinion.' I had to walk away ... "I HEARD NOTHING!"

Re: Rods You Just Can't Part With

Three come to mind: My first 7wt Sage single hander, second is #4 of their 7136. Neither get 'fished' anymore, if I were to break, there is no 'replacement.' At least emotionally.

#3 is my 13...

Re: Moving to Portland

Ouch! Moving to Portland? 2/3's of Oregon's population lives within 70 miles of city center. ;) But the Sandy and Deschutes are a quick drive. For who/what/where/when 'flyfishusa' folks...

Re: Fishing holiday from the UK

'Real time' water conditions for 'any' moving water in the United States, just click on the State map, then the river 'dot.' I think Canada may have similar.

USGS WaterWatch -- Streamflow...

Re: Guy who drives the garbage truck. Friday pick up.

Not quite a 'big rig,' but do have a motor home, with the Jeep hanging off the end we're a tad over/under 60 foot long. Best thing going (when going) is the rear view back up tv camera. Amazing what...

Good morning Dave.:welcomean

Re: Ooooh ohhhhh that smell!

Don't 'hunt,' save for 60 years ago with a .22 rifle. Shoot/Skin/clean, Mom put the rest in a stew pot with Veggies. Skin(s) tacked to a board, hung out to dry.

"Dear God those things stink, leave...

Re: 12 lb. backing ?

Cool thread going on here. My take only ..... backing has to be same/touch stronger than the inner core of your fly line. Leader will break and you're home free; wrap that darned line under a rock...
