Warranty or not, it is not worth the money + the shipping for such an easy repair. Those above have given you good advise as to repairing it yourself.

Re: Inexpensive lathe for wood turning and other questions

Personally not a firm believer in boring after the insert has been turned. Especially if you have an insert that has a .640 OD and the barrel relief is down to .572 and you need a .500 bore to fit...

Re: Inexpensive lathe for wood turning and other questions

Re: Want to build a bluegill rod

Re: Straightest rod vs Spine

I build all of mine on the straightest axis and have never had an issue. I have never seen anyone utilizing strictly the spine when fishing, unless you can always heep the fish directly in front of...

Re: Building a rod, full kit vs blank

I believe Mark also offers a pretty decent 7'6" 4 wt, another nice option is the Bingham SHX

Re: Orvis Rod Blanks?

While the Orvis blanks make a very fine build, I find the biggest drawback, is that there is no warranty on any blank that is not an Orvis factory build

Re: Which reel seat

Actually the Lemke seats are not as high priced as you might think and they definitely fall under the 50.00 range considerably unless it is the Titanium version.
