Re: NIB Airflo Ridge

Bump on the Ridge WF5F and a price reduction. $35 shipped TYD. Good line, I've had an airflo on my 4wt for three years and its still going strong. Can't beat the longevity.

Re: BEST/WORST Hookups...

Generally, when there is a hook sticking into my flesh, I am too pre-occupied with other issues to worry about taking photos :D .

Re: S.A. Sharkskin

Between those choices it would be sharkskin for me. It is a great line. If you were buying something new, I would say get an airflo ridge- the benefits of textured in a long lasting, durable line....

Re: Has anyone ever cast a Winston WT in the 9 foot range?

You will not regret your decision to go with a BIIIx. I am a fast action rod guy and this is the perfect compromise of power, touch, and feel. I recently bought a BIIIx and it lays dries all the way...

Re: This seems to be the trend so I'm gonna join...

Don't overlook the Nautilus CCF. Cork and carbon fiber drag, in between the FWX and the NV, very nice reel. The only cons are that it is not cheap, and it is heavy.

Re: Airflo Ridge Lines

I'm no expert but it goes like this. After a trip I soak my line, stripped into one side of a sink, in warm water with a little mild dish soap for around 10-15 minutes. I then use a sponge or similar...

Re: My Christmas score!

Those are a couple of nice rods. The stowaway 6 casts really well and the CT has a great reputation. But if you tend to find a rod/deal you like and buy it on the spot, DO NOT cast a Sage ONE. I made...

Re: new line for Loomis streamdance GLX

Seems like everybody took my answer :). RIO Gold is what my buddy uses on his GLX, which I believe is also a 9' 5wt. Sharkskin, if you are a fan, also reportedly works well. I prefer GPX to...

Re: decisions, decisions

I was just responding to itchmesir. I would not expect this of any manufacturer. This is the reason why I am still buying cabelas rods on occasion.
