Get yourself an Okuma Sierra off the auction site for $30~ and be set. No reason to even think about a higher priced reel.

you shouldn't have any issues. guys been using those gold eagle claw arberdeen hooks for decades and they're still catching fish. don't know why your hooks wouldn't work. Sometimes us fishermen...

I recently bought some Hook & Hackle Classic for $25(on sale) in DT5.. Works great... lines are made by Cortland and are believed to be the Classic 444 peach lines in an olive color

Yeah can't help you there... Personally I used FTD's fly line which I'm pretty sure is Aquanova line and works great with my 6wt L-Tech... and the price is tough to beat at only $18... Have recently...

SLV is a large arbor reel... Prestige Plus is a Mid-Arbor... PP will hold more backing than the SLV... SLV is about an oz. lighter than the PP... The 8/9 SLV is a tad bit lighter than the PPIII and...

I'm pretty positive in saying that Okuma does not make the Prestige Plus... It's a nice reel at the sales price though... just don't drop the reel... cracked my spool and made my reel useless......

I'd look at an Okuma SLV. I have an Aspen Reel on mine... But I only paid $30 for it... Not the normal $200... Okuma will be fine.. Even for salt... Just make sure to rinse your reel in fresh water...

I use my camera as a photo log.... I can look at pictures and easily remember where I was... and I usually take at least 1 photo of fly in mouth... So I'll at least remember 1 fly that worked that day

When faced with wind in the face I keep my rod on the back cast high... this allows the wind to add to the load of my rod... giving me an even more powerful forward cast which i point my rod tip low...
