To be honest.... I would practice making GOOD short casts before trying to get 90 feet of line in the air. Poor casting form and mistakes will be compounded with that much...

I agree.....no kit. But the basic tools, best ones you can afford, same with the vise. Figure out 3-4 patterns to tackle and buy materials accordingly.

If you go on the DNR site you can download maps of the streams in Minnesota and it had it's restrictions listed also. Plus on the site it will give stream conditions.
