Re: Fish alone or with friends?

It's safe to say that fishing is one of those activities that can make brothers of enemies and vise versa.

Of all the banter while fishing I prefer the kind that isn't about fishing, because...

Re: Reel Love; the Fly Reel Picture Thread

Well, after much waiting and confusion the Saracione arrived. Evidently Joe is discontinuing the 2.75" and 3" Mark IV Trout reels. I was lucky enough to talk with Tom Morgan who gave Joe a call. I'd...

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

I consider any warranty worth the money when it comes to rods. Since once it's broke it's pretty much done and you better have a backup in the car or it's time to go home. So I pretty much consider...

Re: New to fly fishing and in need of help

95chevy, did you get any woolly buggers, nymphs, egg patterns (glo bugs), greenie weenies or san juan worms?

Those always seem to work on our eastern stocked rainbows. Buggers, nymphs and pretty...

Re: I'm so tired of getting ripped off!

This must be a site about fishing if "tail out" ONLY gets 29 hits! ;-)

Re: Will I kill 'em?

One question.

There is a favorite small tailwater that I know holds plenty of brook trout. It's water comes straight out of an earthen dam behind which sits a lake that's 100 feet deep.

So my...

Re: How would you like to have an ice cube made of this stuff for your Single Malt?

I guess that'd be the ONLY way I'd drink it rather than the usual neat.

Re: Evolution of an Angler

Thanks SH. I sold some prized possessions. I lost my temper a lot but couldn't lose my wife or my Faith that all things work out for the best. Life isn't always what we plan—that's not what's...

Re: Will I kill 'em?

I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I haven't heard that from my local fly shops. Spookier fish and harder to catch in the summer but haven't heard that catch and release in the summer kills...

Everyone finds their own way to the water. How they get there, what they do there—is up to them.

I won't take anything away from this lady because of her leaning toward the theatrical and...

Re: Favorite way to store flys

What I currently do is have 5 wheatley fly boxes and 2 cf design fly boxes. The CF designs get used for bass flies, they're deep and accommodate big poppers.

The 6" wheatleys are setup 1 for...

Re: Landing net: Wood vs Composite

I bit the bullet and ordered one based on Kevin Best (owner): "...lighter than Brodin or any other wooden model."

I'll update when it gets here on initial thoughts and after a few catches.
