accel v nexus

I am curious if anyone has had the opportunity to compare the sage accel with the winston nexus in a 9ft 5wt rod.
If so, I would love to hear their thoughts about these two rods.

Re: Got my Hardy DD today...pinions?

If you like it, you will enjoy fishing with it. That's all that matters. I would rather have a reel a little too heavy than a rod that is tip heavy and too much for the reel.

Re: Falling in love with my glass Superfine

I recently finished a 7 1/2 ft 4wt fiberglass blank from T L Johnson. It certainly seems to cast nicely and easily. I am going to the Gunnison, CO next week for a week and look forward to using as...

Re: Aleka, reviews anyone?

Just to see what it was like, I purchased an A8 9ft 5wt a year or so ago. It is a nice looking rod that is pretty quick -- not unlike a Zaxis. I paid around $125.00 for it and think it was certainly...

Re: Ross CLA or Lamson Konic/Guru?

After reading all the informed, intelligent posts on this thread, I will throw in a totally subjective thought. I have both the guru and cla in 5 weight. They are fine reels; I happen to like the...

Re: Reel for 5wt Winston

I really like my Bauer CFX3 for my Winston B2X 5wt 9ft. It is so smooth and has a retro sort of look that I like. I am ordering the #2 for my Sage ZXL which should be a good fit.

Sounds like my 12 year old springer. When my wife is gone, Millie will wake up from her bed in the den with me, go to her bed in the bedroom about 10:30sh, and return to the den, bark to tell...

Re: Beginner Rod & Reel Outfit

The Redington Crosswater 5 or 6 combo is a good deal for a beginner. I got one years ago and still enjoy using it.

Re: Rods you regret buying...

Sage VPS 9ft 5wt. It just seems heavy and "clunky".

Re: Dan Craft GXT 9ft 5wt

I will get a picture up. Until then, the blank is graphite grey. I wrapped it simply with red thread which, when covered with prokote, came out a red wine or claret color.

Dan Craft GXT 9ft 5wt

I recently built on that blank and think it is the sweetest casting rod I have ever used. I have Sage, Winston, St Croix among my collection; it is similar to a Zaxis but with more feel. Dan's...

Re: Difference between Loomis NRX Green or Blue?

Loomis went with green paint and wrappings because some people did not like the plain graphite and bright blue wraps. I think it is purely cosmetic marketing decision.
