Re: Orvis warranty

Call Orvis direct and I bet they will take care of it quicker. I've had good luck with broken rods and exchanges through orvis.

Re: The Infamous Salmonfly

For an easterner it has been a bucket list type of wish to catch some fish on a salmonfly. I had the chance to do so on the South Fork of the Snake on one trip. We were just a few days on the...

Re: Indicator rod

I have an orvis h2 10' 4wt that I have fallen in love with. I got it for Czech nymphing but have tossed a few indicators and even some sulfur drys the other day and it was awesome. A ten 5 might...

Re: Appropriate Amount To Tip a Guide?

My opinion is that 20% total is a good point to work up and down from. Sadly I can't afford to pay way over 20% for exceptional service and feel guilty for tipping much less than 20% on the rare...

Re: Anderson's 2016 5wt reel shootout soon to be released. Predictions??

I love his reviews. I really enjoy reading them. We can all criticize his opinion but he states up front it is simply his opinion. I'm looking forward to it!

I predict my Hatch 4+ will rank...

Re: ever feel you have TO MUCH gear???

I often feel guilty for having too much gear. Then I sell a few things, then I regret selling those things. Collecting gear is a hobby of it's own for me.

Wink Re: Analysis my arsenal.

I'd like to hear some feedback on guys that use 10' 4wts and how they fit into trout arsenals. I am "stuck" with an H2 and can't make up my mind to keep it or not. I want to use it for a nymph...

Re: Hardy zenith warranty

All of the manufacturers say the warranty is for original owner only. If you ask they are going to give you that answer. It is my belief that if you send in a second hand rod with the preferred...

Re: 8' 6" 4 wt. Question

The final winning bids on some of these things kill me. Remember that Ebay and Paypal charge 10% and 2.9% respectively, so that $510 quickly becomes about $440... But yeah, instead of 401k...

Re: 8' 6" 4 wt. Question

An 8'6" will be my next rod purchase for sure but I am not in a hurry. If I needed to buy one brand new today (in an emergency situation) I'd get the Zephrus. In my dream world I am going to hold...

Re: If you could only have 2 Trout rods

These responses inspired me to keep all of my rods... and also buy that 8'6" #4. This site is a great enabler.

If you could only have 2 Trout rods

I've only been trout fishing for about 6-7 years. I'm close to buying another 4wt and I am asking myself why. It's fun to collect rods and I love knowing I have the perfect rod for each situation....

Hatch Finatic keychain $49.50

I have a few Hatch reels... I almost want the $100 nippers... A $49.50 keychain makes me feel like it's potentially gone too far.

Re: Bighorn mid July vs. Missouri end of June

I made my decision to go to the Bighorn. I will get back to the MO at some point... I agree the MO is an awesome place. I lost nights of sleep deciding where to go. I even considered trying to hit...

Re: Bighorn mid July vs. Missouri end of June

Booked the Bighorn. I worked out a solo trip with some guiding and some wading and I am pumped about it. Will it be crowded? You betcha! I'm OK with it. I'm psyched. Now the 8 month wait...

Re: Bighorn mid July vs. Missouri end of June

****, lol. I was getting all amped up about the bighorn because I learned that I can get guided as a single for about $150/day less than the MO. For the mi I can afford 2 days guided and 2 wading...

Bighorn mid July vs. Missouri end of June

I'm planning a 3-4 day trip to chase trout on one of these 2 rivers. I plan to get guides and float 2-3 days and then and wade myself for 1-2 days. Both rivers say drift boat rental is easy etc but...
