Simple answer...go cast every 5wt rod you can get your hands on and buy the one that feels best to you.

You should write the truckee off for the rest of the summer at least until we get more rain hopefully. Flows are too low and temps too high. The fish dont need the pressure.

I recently cast both in 8wt. For me the Mangrove was the handsdown winner. I just had to much trouble keeping the BVK in the sweet spot and even then I still cast farther with the Mangrove.
