Re: Korkers Alumatrax problems?

Felt or rubber bottoms and you need 'studs.' Expensive and not any where worth the price. But there is a 'five dollar option:' Hit a big box hardware store and get a box of METAL Hex Washer head...

Re: September Steelhead

That would be darned early for that high up in that water shed for much in the way of Steelhead. Problem we're having (include all of the Western US in this) is the lack of rain to raise rivers to...

California's...

Air quality index just on the TV.

"Keep your doors and windows closed" to make this short. Air quality index for all of Southern Oregon was as far to the right as they could get. Looking out my office window and it looks like...

Re: Impromptu CO trip/Vacation

Just wait for the Colorado Guys to read this .... they will tell you what 'rock to stand on.' Well, a bit of an over statement there, but where to fish, what to expect, etc., will be coming 'thick...

Re: Help

Easy answer here. Save for King Salmon (not likely at this time of the year) a 6 or 7 is the biggest you'll need for river fishing. A 3 or 4 for lakes.

And you're right: " ..... Tax free shopping...

Red face Re: New English Click & Pawl reel

Must have been a typo, most I've ever spent on a 2hander came in at about $1,500 and that included the line. Least was a 11' glass blank rod done for me by Steve Godshall. God I love that rod! Steve...

Re: Pacific N.West

Good point; in the worst of conditions, the best are the one's that survive. Some times they need a bit of help but these cycles have been going on for a 'million years' so Mom-Nature has it pretty...

+1 to what William said above ... save for one thing (no dig Bill) ... what 'they say on line and backing has ZIP to do with what line you may purchase. Cut that 'backing' number in half and you're...

Re: New English Click & Pawl reel

When it comes to fly fishing I'm always reminded of how much 'it can cost' and how little you get for your money. This reel is a perfect example; my guess it cost $5.00 to make in China or Taiwan...

Re: Montana Public Access Points Listings

Wanted to kick this thread back to the top. Sooner or later fishing in Montana will be worth (for me) the 16 hour/800 mile drive.

Re: Save for day break to 10 AM no one's going to fishing the Rouge River.

Ditto! I'm going to cringe when I see this months electric bill; probably the same for August. You have to keep the darned thing running just about 24/7 unless you want to get up at 0300 and turn it...
