I recently picked up a Cabelas LSI 11'6" 8wt switch rod. At the time it was on sale for $180(regularly $220 or so?). For the money I think it is a nice rod and should be perfect for swinging flies...

I agree with what WT said. If the wind is strong enough to affect your anchor(fly) pacement then, for safety's sake, you should always choose the cast that will place your anchor down wind from you....
