Depends. What is the status of a fish? Does it have the same self awareness of say, a dog? If it did, I would say it is definitely unethical. Hooking a puppy on a fly rod would be unethical.

You probably wont get very good customer service on the warranty once it goes out of stock. Might want to sell it while you can. Powells are very decent chinese made rods.

I dont think you would want to fish a huge hatch. The chances of them eating your fly versus the thousands of others would be small.

Not due to a cost perspective. I bought about a hundred leaders because they were about $.30 each from STP. THink I have had them 2 or 3 years, still have a good 30 -50 left.

Well most of my fishing is for steelhead and salmon so a 8/9 Castle Arms Heritage series spey. It actually is the rod I almost exlusively.
