Either my Simms Rip Rap or wet wading boots. I have winter wading boots sized for thick wool socks and waders. Then I have a pair of wading boots 2 sizes smaller for just gravel guard neoprene socks...

I'm going to chime in to this in too, and I hope I'm not right. The ProII is a medium fast rod and the GPX line is a heavy abrupt taper line. I fear the rod/line combo maybe part of the issue.
