Re: Guess I'll have to trade in my truck for this new rig...

Do me a favor. If I ever show up to a NAFF event wearing those clothes with a Bentley full of tea ... just beat me down. Beat me down for the sake of manhood. And when you think I've had enough, just...

Re: Fighting Butt or Not on 9' 6wt?

The default answer is "You never know if you'll need it" but so far I've never needed a fighting butt for trout. Heaviest rod I've used for trout is a 6wt and that's fishing Idaho, Virginia, and...

Snakehead

Not mine but was in Quantico today fishing the Potomac when this youngster asked if I wanted a Snakehead. Not having a cooler or anything to put the fish in I sadly declined. I would have cooked him...

Re: Long shot: help needed locating old casting article

Ok, I threw about 20 minutes into an online search and came up with nothing. About what year was the article published? Saltwater Sportsmen has about 80 pages of articles dating back to 2001. It's...

Re: Boot Laces

Get the Kevlar laces. You can choke out a bear and saw his head off with them. Then use the laces to start a fire with a hand drill to cook the bear head. When the cops come and arrest you, use them...

Re: Streamer fly line recommendations?

I think the lowest weight Bass taper Rio goes is 6wt. Have you thought about overlining it with a cheap 6wt line? You can definitely find deals on lines and it might not be a bad idea to grab one and...

Re: Observe,Design,and Success!!

Mouse flies are easy to tie, are ultra light and can easily be thrown on a 5wt rod. One of my best flies to fish.

Re: 6-7wt 11' switch rod

Gentlemen, thank you for the offers but I bought a 7wt TFO Switch rod and I'm going to start there. I don't want to entice anymore unnecessary offers and waste your time. Thanks again.

Re: TFO Deer Creek Spey or Reddington Chromer?

Poke around Red's Fly Shop online. They have good video reviews on both rods including lines. I just bought a TFO Deer Creek Switch rod from them based on their videos. Better yet, give them a call.

Re: Help on selecting a line for my 8wt

Careful with that Guru 3, it may not have enough room for backing and a short-headed bass line. I have the same setup and the line scrapes when everything is reeled. You may want to swap for a 3.5.
