I'm thinking of trying to fish Pacifica or Half Moon Bay. Can I get away with fishing there without waders? And, would WF floating line work in the area?

Theoretically speaking, what kind of distance should be expecting while casting a #2 clouser minnow on 11 wt line? i'm having trouble getting the fly out of the water during a roll cast.

Thanks for the advice. I might just hit some east bay beaches or marinas to practice some casting, before I make longer trips to the big water.

I'm new to fly fishing and was wondering if anyone had any success on San Francisco Bay? I don't have a boat, so I'll be fishing from shore. I'm going to be using a 10/11 rod with a 10/11 Okuma SLV...
