Re: Budget 3wt

Re: Best all around bass rod for rivers?

Last bass setup I bought was a 7 wt, have been pretty happy with it... It's a TFO BVK, pretty fast so wind is not an issue, will get most heavy flies out there very well but still gets a good bend in...

Re: redfish

As far as timing goes, I think November through Febrary is prime time for bull reds... I've been told that late November is the best time of all, but it's really good through the cold months. Last...

Rich Waldner, Brian Carter. Never fished with Brian, but he's known as one of the best in LA. Both guys have sterling reputations, I love fishing with Rich and he's as good as it gets.

Re: Wind and rod length - your experience please

There is a lot of good advice here, from every post, but I would start with this advice as the 101 of casting with wind... Rod choice being the first consideration if you enjoy a slower-than-"fast"...

Re: In a bit of a condrum could use some advise

Depending on water and size of fish... I've heard good things about the TFO professional II in the 10' 5 wt for nymphing, and my favorite dry fly rod is a Sage LL 4711 (7'11" 4 wt.).
