Re: S. Platte near Deckers

Yes we've all been there breaking off big fish, but fun is fun and its what keeps me coming back. Smart move fishing before the weekend.

Re: North Park Area of Colorado

Larry's response is pretty good, but I think he might have meant to say North *Park Anglers (in Walden) as a good source for flies and info.

I've spent some time exploring some of the more out of...

Re: North Park early October?

Yes unfortunately the answer is "depends". You'll probably have a good idea a couple weeks out, but not now. I've certainly fished North Park in mid-October before, but I considered those to be...

Are crayfish patterns worth trying?

I fished what I would consider a unique front range river the other day (mostly private) in that it was filled with creek chubs and crawdads. I caught several small browns using my normal freestone...

Re: Trip Report 7/11 thru 7/20 Conejos,Arkansas,Upper Gunnison, Conejos

Great write up and pics.

Edit: Never mind about the bull snake comment, I see both the bull and the rattler (under the railroad track) now.

Rainbow Family at it again...(Redfeather stabbing)

I've never ran into them but I know they were in the Pinedale area maybe 5 years back. Never heard anything good about them other than their ideals to be peaceful and live in harmony with nature,...

Re: Gifting advice - beginner

I second the 4 piece rod idea, also, if possible to have the whole outfit put together for the beginner. When I first started out fly fishing I'd run into a Cabela's or a Bass Pro shops to have them...

1st post? Welcome.

I cant help you above Pinecliffe, but I had a buddy second your thoughts on that railroad tunnel below, the 2nd tunnel that is. Not to hijack your thread, but how was your...

Re: Rmnp?

I've stayed here (http://www.idlewilde.net/index.php) before, little log cabins right on the river with lots of humming birds. Seemed cheap to me.

As far as where to go, please know that this...

Re: South Fork Cache La Poudre river...

I used to have a bit of an obsession with exploring the south fork of the Poudre since it looks to turn into more and more of a box canyon the further up it goes, but I remember the coverage map for...

Re: Sloans Lake, Cheyenne, WY

I doubt it. I used to live across the street and once caught a couple little trout using spinning tackle on some in-line spinners, and would see a carp every now an then, but not often. I would...

Goodtimes, if you're looking for something reasonably priced and don't mind neighbor's, here is a place (http://www.idlewilde.net/index.php) I stayed at a couple years ago thats right on the river.

Spring Creeks during runoff in CO?

I have a general questions about "spring creeks" when people talk about fishing them during runoff instead of the main rivers:

Are these people literally talking about a stream sourced by a...

Re: south platte vs colorado vs north platte

This^^^

If you want to still water fish I hear Trail Ridge Road is supposed to open tomorrow up in RMNP. You could probably avoid some crowds up that way by hiking in? Also, according to Kirks...

Re: south platte vs colorado vs north platte

At this time the Colorado will be blown out most places, as will the North Platte until you get below the reservoirs in Wyoming. South Platte should be fish-able below the reservoirs in Colorado, so...

Re: Colorado Suggestions.. timing/places

Steve, If I were you, I would rent a cabin using the VRBO website and then pick some streams near the cabin location. Are you a cabin? camp? or motel? kind of person?

Also, any pictures from last...

Re: Denver trip plans - Your thoughts?

Since you're fishing during the week, I would consider just fishing Cheesman/Deckers one day, and Elevenmile another. If you're in the Elevenmile canyon area below Elevenmile Reservoir, don't forget...

Re: Six mile gap/northgate canyon?

I'll default to what North Park Anglers says, but based on my experience that area is high enough and muddy enough to keep me away. Their current report (http://northparkanglers.com/fishing-report/)...
