Re: Bentley's outrageous tackle box option for its 160k Bentayga SUV

Hey, if you have the want for it and the cash to do it, then go for it! More power to you.

Re: Gary Loomis North Fork Composites EDGE 8 /#4

Very nice review. Are the blanks for the edge available through NFC? I see they offer 'medium' and 'fast' but no name associated with either of them. I have been looking for a faster 4wt to build...

Re: Pricing of Premium Rods and Equipment - Yikes!!

This gets to the heart of it; how much is it worth to you and, assuming limited $$, what are you *not* going to buy in order to purchase fishing stuff? I am like SS, I have very nice fishing gear...

Re: Break a rod . . . in anger?

Never have come close to doing that, although an old fishing partner used to throw his at times when we were steelheading. Easily frustrated / hot temper are not a good mix with steelhead.

Re: Beaver Lake Tail Water (White River)

I fished there a lot back in the 90's so my info is dated, but here goes. Bob had the best advice, call about generation times as it can be tough during summer. The best wade fishing is right below...

Re: Burkheimer DAL 5 Weights

There is an entire thread dedicated to their single handers on spey pages. I have not tried the DAL series. I need to as my other single handers from them are exceptional rods. I have not thought...

Re: Burkheimer DAL 5 Weights

I have a 489-2 which I was told is similar in action to the DAL. It is a great little dry fly rod. You might want to consider going beyond the DAL line for what you describe. Of all of my single...

Re: Folding wading staff?

I have a great solid shaft staff that I use for steelheading. it is a Sharpes I got from my local shop (Poppy at the Red Shed). Has a weighted bottom so it sinks when not in use. I love it for...

Re: Help With Parachute Adams Please

A lot of great advice. I agree with all comments on the post. You can also shape the post into more of a "wing" shape by trimming the top into a point making it less top heavy. I switched back to...

Folding wading staff?

I have finally had it with my 1/2" folstaf and am looking for a new folding wading staff. I have a non-folding Sharpes wading staff for steelheading, but I prefer a folding one for trout for use...

Re: Dacron or Gel???

I have gel on a few of my two-hand reels because I need the smaller diameter to get enough backing on the them. I much prefer dacron. Also note that you may need to use a different set of knots...

Re: Question about replaceable jaws abel nippers

Re: Divorce Sucks!

Some good advice right there. Also agree with Fred about not jumping right back into another relationship. I was divorced 13 years ago and in hindsight it was the best thing that ever happened to...

Re: NRS inflatable drift boat ? Freestone/Clearwater drifter

I was at NRS a few days ago and they look nice, but that was not what I was after so did not pay much attention. I suggest trying the WA fishing forum. NRS is in their (our) backyard and you are...

Re: Where do you buy more from?

I get everything I can at my local shop, the Red Shed on the Clearwater. I order from another shop if Poppy does not have it; the shop is located in my home state of WA and has great tying supplies.

Re: Are the high end rods really worth it

I like the buyers regret analogy. It is entirely what a new rod is worth to you. I have tried to save money and regretted it, rarely have I bought something top-of-the-line and regretted the...
