How does one use this type of hooks for fly fishing? I used some of the larger hooks with a nail knot to hold the hook to some backing, for stingers on articulated flies but other than that??

The rods from Los Pinos should be great rods. The Los Pinos rods on Sage blanks are, in my opinion, much better made than Sage rods.
