Dr. Mummy; Trout & Salmon tie
 
This pattern has been with us since 1930 and is another flat wing style streamer.

The Recipe;

Hook: I have chose a T10-6H Gamakatsu in size #1
Thread: Black 08 for the body and 05 red silk for the head
Tip: A few turns of medium flat gold tinsel
Tail: Golden peasant tippets, rather long
Butt: Natural peacock herl rather full
Body: Black rayon floss
Rib: Medium oval gold tinsel
Collar: Three to four turns of hot orange saddle hackle tied back
Under Wing: A half dozen fibers from the center tail feather of a cock pheasant tied long, beyond bend of the hook
Wing: A natural mallard flank feather tied in flat to vail the fly

Dan & Dan,

That is an interesting salutation is it not? The pattern was developed in 1930 by a Montanan tier for a Denver doctor named Mummy. I use old books to find old patterns and then give them a new life. I think the late Montanan tier would be flattered that someone was still tying his flies.

Dan, thank you for the pat on the back, as long as I know that someone out there enjoys seeing the craft work I'll keep it coming.
