[QUOTE=vsyogi;77318]Jimw- when you tie the hook point up does the epoxy ever cause missed hookups?

I forgot to mention i use clear silicone caulk when i tie it like a clouser it is much softer and acts as a weed guard

Craft fur is a great material for all kinds of SW flies. My favorite synthetic.

Good tip on the Rexlace. I'll check it out.
I tried the Michael's sorta by my home. (2 hr. drive) and they had no craft fur. You may have better luck at yours, but I think they all carry pretty much the same stuff. My favorite shrimp pattern to tie is the tippet shrimp.

You're right, I took a look in the local Micheals. Nothing.
I have a ton of 'fly shop' patches, but I've also gotten craft fur from discount stores. They may even have a few colors at W*lmart

I use craft fur a lot.
For the Borski style patterns it a must. Both the Borski bonefish slider and the Dorsey kwan, a redfish fly, are excellent here on the flats for stripers. I tie a full bodied high/low style bait fish pattern with craft fur and it makes great Clouser minnows too.

These are all fly shop photos... not mine
