$3 Dip Nymph

I saw this fly on Blue Ribbon Flies web site and it looked pretty easy so I thought I would tie a few:

Chris, the pattern I have for the $3 Dip calls for white bleached deer hair but I didn't have any (I have some on order), so I used white antron material. The picture is a little over exposed, the body is a rust colored 6/0 thread, it looks a little orange in the photo.

Larry I think personally I like the antron you used. White deer hair might add enough to give it neutral buoyancy I can't think of wHy else it would call for deer hair with a beadhead, but the antron will add more to the pattern. IMHO

Kerry: Good point, once I get the bleached deer hair, I will fish both styles and see which fishes better in my area.

Thanks guys, the Blue Ribbon Flies web site says it fishes really well on the Madison River, so I thought I would tie a few and test it out on some of the streams here in Wyoming.

JP: Your dozen flies are in the mail, but don't rush out to the mailbox, all that gold weighs a lot, it will take some time to get to you. LOL!
