Thanks for the positive comments...
Feelers etc - Bucktail - pink (tied below the shank), yellow, tan and black (above) be economical with the bucktail.
Eyes - 40lb mono with black seed bead dipped in Bug-Bond and cured
Thread - Danvilles Flat floss - Shrimp.
Legs - 1 Grizzle hackle (part of large webby)
Flash- 2 strands of Funky Krystal Flash tied in at the eye(doulbled) pink
Carapace - pale pink Funky Fibre pulled over shank and Bug-Bond applied to build up shell of shrimp... 3 coats 3.5/5 second cure time for each layer
So... The eyes are applied to the shank with Bug-Bond... just a drop to maintain the outward curve of the eye stalk... the carapace is pale pink funky fibre ((or EP) more of a thin veil) drawn over the top of two strands of pink Krystal flash and a grizzle hackle... (draw it quite firm to compress the top of the hackles) the fibre is given a quick coat of Bug-Bond... just sufficient to soak the fibres and the hackles beneath... cure and then two thin coats (curing between each) to give the shiny back...
Bug-Bond goes a long way (little is more) and a carapace takes 10 seconds plus application time... maybe a minute or so tops?
If you are interested commercial tyer Andy Elliott wrote this on UKSWFF (and I didn't pay him to either just for the record)

I was also using my new vise a Griffin Montana Mongoose... so glad I spoke to a pal of mine in the States before I made a purchase... last one of this model in the UK... everyone was out of stock... and how did I live before a rotary!
