That's cool. The Mayan Cichlid is a pretty fish isn't it. It looks like it could be a little scrapper. Good job on the fly.

I caught a 5 pound bass scaled and everything on one of them two days ago. Biggest bass on fly so i framed the fly and it is now retired until another fly catches another pb. I tied this fly a couple minutes ago.

gamakatsu sc15 2/0 ep fiber my local fly shop sells fish blends this is one of them you can make your own by buying your own and using a cat comb to "blend" them.i use red ep fibers to form the very prominent gill cichlids have. i use 6/0 monocord thread. and sharpie to form the stripes.
