Default New Material..New Flies

Just messing around with some recent fly tying material I purchased!

Hand Carved (cork) Bubblehead Articulating Popper-Floats well!Learned a lot while working on this. CCG coat on top got a little messed up. Wish I would've taken a bit more time with it

Nice flies. I like that hand carved popper, great work...that must have been fun.

Quick question:
Is the long exposed hook shank on the articulated orange fly for bite protection?
Thanks!

Yes and no..

I actually ran out of the orange marabou and creativity. Thats the real story. I will be using this on toothy critters, so it worked out ok. If the fish focuses on eyes or body it "may" help gets its teeth away from the line

Thanks! It was! My first go at it, so there is a lot of room for improvement. Cork sands well and "carves" easily if you take your time. Im thinking about picking up an air brush which will leave more room for creativity when painting.
