I decided i would try an idea I got while looking at some old spin cast lures, I made the head with cork the lip is plastic. thanks for looking.

thinking is the dangerous part... hope to try it sunday

I just sink tested it and it sits like a belly up fish and does dive, but the sink isnt big enough.

Mike: That is an interesting idea, I bet that popper will pull some water when stripped. Might be just the ticket for Smallies!

it will push water for sure, Ill get some video of it sunday. I can already think of a few things I want to change to make it look better on the next one.

it worked ok, even wiggled like a spin cast liped bait. sadly the lip broke on the first day. so ill make a new one someday, for now its a diving popper.

Rainy's Flies makes a similar fly but it is all molded- basically a lightweight diving lure:

Regardless it is a good fly, and I think that yours will act more realistic overall
