Many years beyond those early days I realize that were it not for all those Brook Trout and all the lessons they taught, I would be at great loss when pursuing what some consider the greatest prize that swims. Now when I catch a King Salmon, as he runs and peels line from my reel I think of a Brook Trout, when he jumps cartwheeling from his natal river, I see a Brook Trout, and so the circle is complete.
Awesome!! really nice.

No worries, Maybe they think there is a catch, (pardon the pun) .
Makes the chances for those who did enter better.
Either way someone is getting 10 proven trout flies.
Drawing will be tomorrow at 5:00 pm Atlantic time.

For someone that has been away for a few years, I am now getting back seriously into fly fishing and being somewhat of a gear head.
For me there was lots to learn about rod weights and lengths for certain situations. My fishing and tying skills have improved because of what learned here, so just paying it forward.
I still think I am coming out ahead.

Why do I like fishing for them? How about an entire thread. Are You Hooked on Brookies?

I like fishing for them because they are the most gorgeous fish I have ever come across. They are aggressive and spunky. I once caught a brook trout on a hopper pattern that still had a real grasshopper in his mouth that he had just eaten! I love the cool, crystal clear spring creeks I find them in and the gorgeous surroundings.

Newby's name and number was drawn.
Congrats

Hope they work for you to.

Hi Noeaster.
A Very Generous Gesture on your part.
Unfortunately we don't have large populations of Brookies in our area although from time to time an occassional one is caught,it's possible it's Wild Bred or has come with other Fish we have released as we stocked them in the 70s,however there are good stocks in The Snowy Mountain Lakes & Rivers Systems.
Cheers.
Brian.
