A mixture which work well over here but Im confident would work anywhere.

Another group of nice flies, Kevin.

I particularly like your upright emerger. How much of that fly is actually underwater when it's cast out? Up to the hackle? More?

It only goes upto the hackle.that was the way I designed it,rather than have the hook on an angle I felt it took the fly better with it upright and gains a better hold on the fish.(now theres a topic for discussion)

They sit very well in the water though.

the upright klink above.

butt is lime thread.
body is just black thread with a slver rib.
hook size can be anything from 14 to 10 kamasan b175
hackle is black whiting hackle,cock.
the post is white yarn.

Thanks, Kevin. It helps a lot.

So you use a wet fly/nymph hook on that pattern. You could go lighter on the hook with the b170.

I'd be interested to see how it would float with the lighter kamasan, or, perhaps interestingly, with a dry fly hook. I'm thinking that sitting higher in the water could be a fishing advantage.
