Claret Sunset Spey
Tied this up for a swap on another forum which will likely be my last swap for a while (writing my PhD thesis).
Pretty simple pattern, as follows. Hook: AO Spey size 3 Body Gold Tinsel Rib: Silver Wire (Medium) counterwrapped Hackles - Claret Whiting Rooster Spey, followed by custom dyed sunburst whiting hen Head Black. Hope you guys like them https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-q...4/IMG_0296.JPG |
Re: Claret Sunset Spey
Good luck with your thesis - always a sweat until they're done, but a huge accomplishment. Much success!!

Re: Claret Sunset Spey
Nice, Eunan...and welcome to the club, PhD-wise (lol, for what that's worth). I wondered where you got the time to tie all these fancy flies...now I know! It's the same way I managed to bird hunt 100 days per year for several years. What's your thesis?

Re: Claret Sunset Spey
LOL, as scintillating as I'm sure that reading would be, I'll pass. But thanks ever so much of thinking of me!

Re: Claret Sunset Spey
I'll bite when you have it finished; my PhD is in Molecular Genetics. My thesis was on the regulation of the human Interferon system. That was 1978; just in time for the budding Biotech industry.

Re: Claret Sunset Spey
Mine was on the winter ecology of female ruffed grouse. Just in time to watch forest manipulations for early successional species come to a grinding halt due to a variety of things that I don't spend much time thinking about anymore.
But that is a bold-faced hijack, so on with the show! I barely passed biochemistry, by the way, lol. Gary |
Re: Claret Sunset Spey
I toyed with straying a bit off the beaten path and doing mine on the tensile strength of last Winter's icicles. But, the committee was concerned that they wouldn't be able to examine the results of my thesis......................:D....................
