There is nothing wrong with the white bead, or a clear one. Sometimes they represent the air bubble of an emgerging nymph. The main difference is that the gold bead adds weight while the white one is probably glass and won't sink as well. If you wrap your nymph wit a little wire this will make up the difference in weight.
