Default New hackle technique for me

Never did this before. I wrapped the brown hackle collar and pulled it down into a beard, then took a black hackle and put a full collar black face on the fly. Dark on top lighter on the bottom. I will have to experiment with different colored hackles.

Thanks jbird.... tie some up.

My photography is not the greatest and the colors don't come true, ie. the head is white thread and a black tip....you know, a jungle cock look, representing an eye.

Here's a "followers" view....maybe I need a little more black on the back.

Outstanding idea!

The technique really showed up well in the pic from above.I can imagine trying this dropping it into a hole and jigging and twitching it to the surface from beneath some some large fish suspended in the column..

I think this type streamer would do well with an articulating hook too..to take advantage of the excellent body cover. T

looks good. perhaps tied on a shank to get the hook rearward to get those short strikers??? works on my clousers. I make my own shanks btw from spool wire.
