Testing a new gadget. A Raynox DCR-250 macro converision lens (USD 50). The lens is like a filter that you snap on in the fron to your ordinary telelens. I have tried it out with my telezoom (70-300mm) that have a minimum focus distance at 1.5 meter. With the snap on lens the distance with 300mm is about 20 cm from the objective.
The picture.
Midge - hook size 18 - benecchi chenille - goose biot and black hackle.
The objective setting 100mm and aperture 22. At 200mm on the zoom lens the fly cover the hole photo frame.

Thank you mcnerney

btw. the conversion lens is very practical if you do not want to have a lot of gear with you in the field - just put it in your pocket.

Trygve: Very nice work, like always! I tied up some buzzers like your Maryland Cookie Buzzer last winter, the only difference was mine used a gold colored throat and I had really good results with it this season. I'll bet that black midge will fish great, I may tie up a few for next year.
