Default Olive Sparkle Scud

I had some of my sparkle dubbing left over from last months big batch of caddis Pupa. I thought they might make an interesting mix for some scuds.

I added some partridge scraps and dark green dubbing to the sparkle mix to darken it. The old mix was olive and chartreuse antron with some fire-star caddis mylar dubbing.

Whatcha think?

DSFlyman: Nice looking scud! It's kind of funny you posted that pattern. Last night I was on Charlie Craven's web site charliesflybox.com and he has a pattern very similiar to yours that John Barr developed. I spotted the pattern and liked it so I sent Charlie an order for the materials that I'm missing. I can't wait to tie some up. Here is a picture of the pattern John Barr devoloped that he calls the Barr Net Builder.

I've been a bit "flash crazy" lately. I'm curious if it will make these more interesting and/or visible to fish on the bottom, especially as it gets deeper.

Nice looking fly.
I would consider one thing though, and that would be to make the body just a little more sparse, as most Scuds have just a slightly slimmer body.

Overall it looks very good.
