20 Inch Stonefly and San Juan Worm

The past couple of days I have been tying a few of Charlie Craven's version of the 20 Inch Stonefly:

Head	Gold or Tungsten Bead

Thread	Black 6/0
Tails	Dark Brown Goose Biots
Rib	Gold Thread or Tinsel
Abdomen	Peacock Herl
Thorax	Natural Hare's Mask Dubbing
Wingcase	Turkey Tail Quill
Legs	Hungarian Partridge

Here is a San Juan worm that I have been experimenting with using some new material I obtained from Spirit River called "Squirmy Wormies" that I thought was kind of interesting. This stuff has lots of natural movement and feels real soft when squeezed. This should work well during next spring's high flows:

Real nice stone fly nymph Larry. That wormy stuff does look real interesting. Does it have any streatch to it? tear easy? I'm always looking for more worm building elements. I've got one made from pink prophylactic...but that's another story.

JJ: Thanks! The worm material is really stretchy and has a nice soft feel to it so I'm thinking it won't tear easy, but I haven't tried it out in the water yet. I probably won't give it a try until spring.
