Going to Brown Town

I'm planning a winter camping trip for a few days. So I tied up a few sculpin and goby patterns for my resident browns. Hope you guys like'em.

Ran out of tubing so these are on #4 straight eye long shank.

I love the looks of your Wool Head Sculpin, very nice work! That should be just the ticket for some big old brown trout, congrats!

Here's some more that will join me in the Hemlock Gorge. I'm really looking forward to getting away for a few days. Snow, ice and no one around aside from a few other brave souls. Big brown potential and solitude!!!! I can't bloody wait!!!

I'm just waiting out the rain now. Hopefully they open the dam and we get another shad hatch. Thats when the big dogs come out of hiding!!

Re: Going to Brown Town

So the camping aspect didn't happen, way to bloomin cold! I did spend a few days swinging streamers down there and hooked up with plenty of decent browns. I still fell short of the 20" mark but I know where he lives now, I turned him a few times but he's a smart one! I don't think its possible to land this guy even if I had hooked up. This fish sat so tight into a log jam all he would have to do is turn his head and I'm in a wood pile! Once its warmer and more importantly safer I'll tangle with him at night!

Ive not seen a 20" trout in about 5 years...ah those were the days. Catch'n trout, drink beer, catch'n girls...ah college. I do miss being able to get into trout easily. But, a 40" pike on a good bunny well nothing gets better then that :D
